COVID – 19

DVSDS have implemented a range of actions to reduce the transmission of COVID-19 and promote the health, safety and wellbeing of our students. These include;

  • Hand Hygiene. All students are encouraged to sanitise or wash their hands on arrival to school and regularly throughout the day, before and after eating, before and after playing in the playground, after coughing, sneezing and going to the toilet
  • Extra classroom cleaning of hard surfaces and ‘high touch’ areas
  • Social distancing and section ‘bubbling’ where possible
  • All essential visitors to QR check in
  • Density limits and air purification to ‘high-risk’ areas
  • Increased ventilation to all indoor areas
  • Mask wearing for staff as per the legal guidelines
  • COVID-19 vaccination mandated for all school staff

DVSDS encourages all families and eligible students to get vaccinated.

If a student is unwell, they must not attend school. If a student becomes unwell at school, parents/carers will be contacted and asked to collect their child as soon as possible. If a student is experiencing symptoms such as a fever, cough, runny nose or sore throat, DVSDS is required to isolate that student (with supervision) until they are collected from school. Parents/carers will be advised to take their child for a COVID-19 test and stay at home until they receive a negative test result and feel well. Parents/carers must alert the school if their child has been confirmed with COVID-19.
